Hi! I’m Jake Pacheco, the silversmith behind JP Jewelry Design. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. In 2000 my wife and I moved to Portland, OR with our then 3 year old son. I’ve always had an interest in silversmithing. When I was a small child I used to sit and watch my father make sterling silver Native American jewelry in his workshop. I remember going to reservations around New Mexico enjoying the feast days, music and rich artistry of New Mexico’s reservations.
As I grew up I took to drawing and photography taking many classes focused on this during high school. I’ve been a designer/artist basically my whole life, I graduated college with a degree in visual communications, and have had a rich and sucessful career as a designer and design director. Recently my father was diagnosed with early on set Parkinson’s Disease so I know it was time to learn as much as I could from him. I am so grateful that we can now teach each other new techniques and styles.
My jewelry designs are both native and contemporary in style, I absolutely love both styles. I also enjoy creating custom pieces as well, I relish the opportunity to collaborate with others as we create a one of a kind heirloom piece that can be past down for generations. If you have an idea for a custom piece of jewelry? Let me know! I’d love to work with you.
The jewelry I create is 100% handmade and each piece contains a little of me. I work hard to bring you high and heirloom quality pieces.
